There has been a rise in the availability of non-alcoholic or low-alcoholic alternatives to traditional beers, wines, and spirits since the start of 2022. Companies such as Drink Dry and Lyre's have either imported or produced their own zero-proof options, providing more options for people who want to drink while socializing.
How do hotels decide which trends to follow? We caught up with three F&B experts to find out.
Carmine Pecoraro, director of food and beverage at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers, oversees about 10 outlets. He has noticed a trend of increasing demand for alcohol-free or low-alcoholic drinks in the city and the industry. This trend caters to the non-alcoholic consumer market, whether for cultural or health reasons. Pecoraro believes that offering zero-percent cocktails allows restaurants to showcase the creativity and skill of their mixology to all customers and charge more for these skills.
